Please Come to the AGM

We need you to come to the annual general meeting, on the Tuesday the 18th of May. It's important that you have your say on the direction of the PA and understand some of the good work that has happened at the school this year. Please see the newsletter for more information.

Again, we appreciate your involvement and are grateful to everyone who attends.

What is the parents association?
The parent association is the structure through which parents in a school can work together for the best possible education for their children. 

The parent association works with the principal, staff and the board of management to build effective partnership between the home and school. Partnership between the home and school is important because with positive and active partnership the child gets the best that primary education can offer. 

Day to day, what does the PA do? We hope to follow the recommendation of the national parents council , which suggests:

"The parents association may organise social activities for parents and children and these can be an excellent way to get to know other parents and find out more about the school. The PA may also organise extra curricular activities such as drama or music lessons after school for the children."

find out more what about how we hope to operate and the current plan to do it, by reading the Kilcolgan Educate Together Parent Association's Draft Constitution.  Not sure you agree, email us, or come to the AGM, where you can air your views.

Once a constitution is agreed by all parents we can update this site with lots more information on the purpose of the PA and upcoming events.

Gort and Kinvara Bag pack

Well done everyone who participated at the Gort and Kinvara bag packs.  We collected €1014.95 for the school at Kinvara and hope to match that at Gort.

Thanks to everyone who came to Coole Park, it was a lovely day full of sunshine and good food.  Thanks to all the families who came along to make this a great day.
